An officer of the Indian Army, IC 57620 P Major Devender Pal Singh, 7th Battalion, The Dogra Regiment, Retired; became a battle casualty of Indo-Pak War- Operation Vijay, 1999 while leading a platoon of 28 men and defending their position at the LOC. He survived to tell his tale.

Yesterday February 16th 2015, I received an email from Lieutenant Colonel Siva Kumar Thammaiah, 4th Battalion, The Dogra Regiment, Retired; with a soft copy and the following message attached:
Hi Sagat,
Well-written article. On 13 July 1999, DP was my company officer and I was present when he was brought across the Munawar Tawi

He forwarded my article after receiving an email with the following text:
